Official Big Rim Pioneers
2024 RuleBook

The goals of Big Rim Pioneers are to provide racers with structured rules that enhance competition and safety. We accomplish this via our rulebook to guide our participating members, tracks, and spectators.

Licensing
All drivers must be over the age of 18 with a valid state-issued driver license.

All sanctioned Big Rim Pioneers events will be 1⁄4 mile heads up racing. Races will utilize a .400 pro tree for the start. Red lights will count, and crossing over the centerline is an automatic disqualification. The scoreboards WILL NOT display ET or MPH, but racers will receive a time slip for their run. Time slips will be cut in half; therefore, racers will only receive the printout for their performance, not their opponent. All racers will follow NHRA &IHRA safety specifications.

Helmets
Helmets are mandatory for AL participants. The helmet must be a full-faced helmet meeting Snell M2015, SA2015 certification.

Publicity
In consideration of being allowed to enter and by being issued credentials to an Big Rim Pioneer event, the vehicle owner, the vehicle driver, crew members, extra crew members, and other holders of event credentials (the “participant”) agree as follows:

Al rights to advertising, promotion, filming, recording, exhibition, and other exploitations of the event, the participants and vehicles entered in the event, and their activities at the site of the event before, during, and after the event and reasonably related to the event, are reserved to Big Rim Pioneers and its assigns;

Participants hereby grant Big Rim Pioneers and its assigns (a) full and unconditional permission to make still or motion pictures and any other type(s) of audio or visual recordings of their activities at the site of the event before, during, and after the event and reasonably related
to the event; and (b) the exclusive, worldwide and perpetual rights to use the same, together with their names, likeness, and biographies of participants, and the names, likeness, and date of, or relating to, their entered vehicles for publicity, advertising, exhibition or exploitation, whether or not for profit, in print, audio, video, and other communications media by reproduction and sale or other distribution by any and all means now known or hereafter developed;

Big Rim Pioneers
Participants agree (a) that, without the prior written consent of Pioneers they shall not take any still or motion picture or make any audio or visual recording oft h e event, participants therein, or activities at the site oft h e event for use other than personal, in home use of the participant, or cause or permit others to d o so or to use the same; (b) that Pioneers shall have exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, and universal use of any pictures or recordings made or used in violation of this paragraph; and (c) that Pioneers shall be irreparably harmed by the making or use of such pictures or recordings in such fashion without such permission.

Participant Apparel Sales
Contestants participating at a Big Rim Pioneer event have the privilege of selling their race team’s wearing apparel. Any wearing apparel sold must have the vehicle and/or driver identity, and official Big Rim Pioneers logo on the clothing. Contestants may not sell any apparel that does not have either their vehicle, driver identification and official Big Rim Pioneer logo as a permanent part of the item. The allowable wearing apparel items
that may be sold are: Hats, Headbands, T-shirts, Dress Shirts, Jackets, Sweatshirts, Sweatpants and Shoes. The sale of Sunglasses, Toys, Hearing Protection, Seat Cushions, Film, Cameras, Rain Gear, Umbrellas, Ticket/Credential holders and Can Coolers are strictly prohibited. Any items not specifically listed must be approved in advance by Big Rim Pioneers.

Team Sponsor Apparel
Contestants may sell wearing apparel promoting their sponsor. The guidelines are as follows- a) The apparel sold must meet the same criteria as outlined above, b) The sponsor must have primary major visual exposure on the race vehicle.
Al artwork and related products must be Pioneers approved prior to selling at Big Rim Pioneers event.

Racing Procedures
The procedures and regulations set forth shall be followed at all Big Rim Pioneers sanctioned events. These are a guide toward a universal racing goal, and interpretation will be made by the Board members of Competition their decision shall be final.

Technical Inspection
ALL ENTRIESMUST COMPLETE &PASS THE TECHNICAL INSPECTION PROCEDURE PRIORTO COM- PETITION.
Adjustments may be made at any time if a particular combination is determined to have an unfair competitive advantage in a particular class. The Pioneers reserves the right to determine the validity of any race in the event that the contestant deliberately attempts to discredit the run.
